EUNICE~A wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Lorraine Lewis will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Lorraine died peacefully on Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at Cornerstone Village South in Lafayette surrounded by her loved ones. She was 80. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Jim Davis.
Lorraine Lewis formally Lorraine Launey loved camping, reading, cooking as well as an avid quilter. But most of all she loved her family especially her husband of 60 years, Charles Lewis of Eunice; two daughters, Mary Catherine Sonnier of Scott and Ann Margaret Woodland of Lafayette; a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Launey of Kinder and the five joys of her life, her grandchildren, Seth Sonnier, Sophie Broussard, Rachel Daune, Blake Woodland and Chad Woodland.
She is now resting in Heaven with her beloved parents, Rouel and Ena Fontenot Launey.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice Sunday, May 11th from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and again on Monday, May 12th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
