Julia “Judy” Smith, 73, died on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Heart Hospital in Lafayette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 01, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.
She was the owner and operator of Pelican Restaurant.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy A. Smith of Eunice; her mother, Hazel V. Johnson of Eunice; two daughters, Monica West and husband, Joseph of Eunice and Debra Stanford of Lafayette; three brothers, Joseph Ray, “BiBi” Arnaud and Donald “Brother” of Eunice; eight grandchildren, Kevin Richard, Craig Bourque, Ashley and Kelsey Soileau, Alec Stanford, Brittany, Brooke, and Hunter Fontenot; four step-grandchildren, Erica, Devan, Garrett and Angel West; five great- grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katrina V. Bourque; her father, Joseph “Red” Arnaud; a grandson, Derek Thibodeaux; three sisters, Geraldine Langley, Pat CoCo and Jeanette Daigle; her step-father, Phil Johnson.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, October 31st from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 1st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday evening.
