PEGGY THOMASSON LAFLEUR
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” -- John 14:1-3.
Peggy Thomasson Lafleur, our beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and grandmother, was called into the arms of our heavenly Father on April 16, 2015 at the age of 80.
Born and raised in Melville, La., Peggy was a retired school teacher who lived and raised her family in Eunice, La., before moving to Baton Rouge.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Always strong in faith, she was also active in her church communities, First United Methodist Church in Eunice and St. John’s United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea Lafleur Aubin and Don Aubin; Patricia Lafleur Ganiban and Gary Ganiban; and Myra Lafleur Russell and Trae Russell; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Marlys Thomasson; eight grandchildren, Jillian, Michael and Christopher Aubin; Justin and Jack Ganiban; Harrison, Kate and Gabriel Russell; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Katie Thomasson; her husband Lee J. Lafleur; brothers Joe Thomasson, Andrew Thomasson and Ludlow Thomasson; sisters Ruth Hebert, Sophie Ziegler and Jane Westerhaus.
Visitation will held on Monday, April 20 at 9 am at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge, followed by Funeral Services at 11 am.
Burial services and interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, La.
