Marine dealer
BATON ROUGE – Services for marine retailer Dominic Bonfanti will be Thursday. He died Nov. 18 at age 82.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, among the first to land at Inchon’s Chosin Reservoir. He was owner/president of Bonfanti Marine and numerous other recreational boat dealerships, two-term president of the Louisiana Marine Retailers Assn. and founding president of the Marine Retailers Assn. of America.
Survivors include his wife Celina, a son and two daughters.

Lunar landing engineer
GRETNA – Services for space engineer and Eugene Meliezer will be Saturday. He died Nov. 13 at age 93.
He was a Royal Dutch Navy veteran of World War II who survived the sinking of three vessels he was aboard, living adrift in a lifeboat for six weeks in German-controlled waters after one of the sinkings. His team at Boeing, New Orleans designed the lunar landing craft boosters for the first Apollo moon landing. His last project was design of the Vidalia Hydroelectric station.
Survivors include his wife Nannie and two daughrers.
