Funeral services was held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Krystal Lynn McGinn, 38, who died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:35 p.m. at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.
Krystal was a 1995 graduate of Crowley High School. At the time of her death she was employed with Louisiana Crane in Eunice. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt.
Rev. Austin Spell officiated for the services.
The family requested visiting hours Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to service time. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Ms. McGinn is survived by one daughter, Lexus Johnson of Eunice; one son, Wesley Johnson of Iota; her parents, Larry and Cyndi G. McGinn of Crowley; two sisters, Korie M. Ardoin and her husband John of Egan, Angela M. Harrington and her husband David of Crowley; one brother, Larry Lee McGinn, Jr. of Houston, TX; her maternal grandmother, Jean Marie Gesch of Cankton; her loving friend, Brent Soileau of Eunice.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Homer William Gesch, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Horace and Lucille McGinn.

Michael “Cha Cha” Blaine Fontenot

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Michael Blaine Fontenot, 56, announces his passing on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. A burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery with Father Thianese as celebrant.
He was born Oct. 20, 1958.
A loving husband, father, brother and friend, Michael will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Valerie Douget of Mamou, daughter, Laci Landreneau and husband Aaron of Mamou, and brother, Eddie “To-To” Fontenot of Mamou.
Michael will now reunite in heaven with his parents Jeffery and Emma Lou Fontenot and his brother John Richard Fontenot. They will be awaiting his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Fontenot family, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will reopen again on Thursday, June 3, 2015, at 7 a.m. A rosary will be recited in Mr. Fontenot’s honor on Wednesday June 3, 2015, at 5:30 p.m.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Rayola G. Lou Marcantel announces her passing on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 3 a.m. at Savoy Care Center in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 3 p.m. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon as Celebrant.
She was born on Aug. 13, 1920.
Lou is survived by her two daughters, Phoebe Cormier of Mamou and Glenda Reed of Saint Amant; one sister, Betty Hildabrand of Mamou; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren;
She will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Evabe Marcantel, one son, Jim Marcantel, her parents, Sady and Armide Guillory, two brothers, Ray D. Guillory, Burke S. Guillory, one sister, Yvonne Ardoin and two grandchildren, Coby Cormier and Phillip Reed. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts

Mary LaVergne Ardoin departed on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 7:30 a.m. at the age of 90 in Eunice
Extended Care Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic
Church in Durald. Msg. Robert Romero will officiate. Burial will follow at Ceaser Cemetery in Durald.
Mary was born on March 15, 1925 to the late Arthur and Theresa Leday Popillion in Mallet, LA. She was
the last of six siblings to depart from this life. She resided at Basile Care Center for the last seven years
of her life. Her second marriage was to the late Delphin Ardoin. Previously, she was married to Honray
LaVergne until his death. She not only became a wife but an instant mother to five children. She nurtured
and mothered those five children before they began a family of their own. Upon that union six more children
were born.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Theresa Poppillon; one sister; four brothers; one daughter,
Theresa L. Poullard; three sons, Douglas, Andrew (Tim), and John (June) LaVergne; one grandson, Aunaray
LaVergne; and one granddaughter, Bernadette Rougeau.
She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Louise (John) Rougeau of Richmond, CA, Earline (Ertis)
Hampton of Houston, TX, Charlene (Melvin) Moreau of Lake Charles, LA, McLedia Gradney of Basile, LA; three
sons, Louis LaVergne of Tracy, CA, Albert LaVergne of Kalamazoo, MI; and Anthony (Georgia) LaVergne of
Lake Charles, LA; twenty-three grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Active Pallbearers to be announced.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Louis LaVergne, Albert LaVergne, Anthony LaVergne, John Rougeau, Melvin Moreau,
and Ertis Hampton.

EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Curtis Porche announces his passing on Sunday, June 07, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 58. At the family’s request, Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
Curtis was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him, especially his sons, Cody Porche of Marksville and Coby Porche of Baton Rouge; daughters, Christy Savoie and husband, David of Lakeland, Roxanne Ardoin and husband, Shawn of Eunice, and Tanya Porche of Port Allen; brothers, Floyd Porche, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Mamou and Lloyd Porche and wife, Donna of Jarreau; sisters, Delores Thibodeaux and husband, Donald of Eunice and Mona McDaniel and husband, Danny of Batchelor; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Floyd and Agnes Bertrand Porche; and brother, Brian David Porche.

Michael Hyland

Michael Hyland, husband of Phyllis Lewis, daughter of Beverly Lewis Aucoin, died of cancer May 28, 2015 at their home in Sonoma, California.
Michael was the first publicist for the Allman Brothers Band, and a very popular Middle Tennessee media figure and publicist in the music industry. Michael moved to Nashville in 1979 and in 1989 managed publicity for Gaylord Entertainment/Grand Old Opry. In 1997 Michael created the Full Court Press firm with his wife, Phyllis. It was during this time the Hylands created and launched Wine Down Main Street, an annual festival to raise funds for the Williamson County-Franklin Boys and Girls Club. The festival is still actively earning money for the children, and will celebrate its 15th anniversary this year. In 2009 the Hylands relocated to Sonoma, California, where Michael continued as a publicist in the northern California wine industry.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, two sons, Glynn and John of LaGrange, GA, daughter, Amanda Hyland Jones and granddaughter Madison of Dallas, TX, two-step-children, Travis and Laurie Armstrong of Nashville, TN.
A memorial service was held in Nashville on June 10th.

SWORDS~It is with heavy hearts that the family of William Joseph Lavergne announces his passing on the evening of Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 88. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Darren Eldridge officiating.
William proudly served his country in the United States Navy in World War II. He loved farming. Over the years he was very active as a parishioner of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier as well as a past member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW. He enjoyed his Cajun music and dancing but most of all, William adored his wife and family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a supportive, giving and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be very deeply missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Thelma Clavier Lavergne native of Church Point and a resident of Swords; his six sons, Terrel “Murph” Lavergne and wife, Keri of Wellington, FL, Wayne Lavergne and wife, Johnette and Dale Lavergne and wife, Geraldine both of Eunice, Donvan Lavergne of Lafayette, Kent Lavergne and wife, Brenda of Swords, and Ricky Lavergne and wife, Mary of The Woodlands, TX; two daughters, Brenda Mistrot and husband, Pierre of Three Mile Lake and Charlotte Chapman and husband, Terry of Swords; one brother, Dimmick Lavergne and wife, Monique of Colorado Springs, CO and a sister, Bonnie L. Comeaux of Patterson. He was a loving grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clebert and Mary Mabel Smith Lavergne and a brother, Henry Lavergne.

Pastor Albert Ray Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery in Mamou.
Dorlica passed away at 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the St. Landry Parish Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas, LA.
Dorlica was a very devoted and faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church She served as Sr. Usher for 40 years and a Deaconess for 20 years.
Survivors include five sons: Albert Frank and Clyde Frank (Barbara), both of Deridder, LA, Mitchell Frank (Anna), Bud Frank and Conroy Frank, all of Mamou, LA; four daughters: Janella Goodley of Church Point, LA, Linda Frank Griffith, Lori Frank and Tina Frank, all of Mamou, LA; one brother, Lee West Harrison (Beulah) of Mamou, LA; four sisters: Orlease Stevens of Tallahassee, Florida, Lucy Living (Willard) of Stockton, California, Orelia Sykes and Lillie Mae Richmond, both of Chicago, ILL; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Dorlica is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Joseph Frank; two sons, Eligha Guillory and Tennis Frank; two brothers, Loyse Harrison, and Ruthely Harrison; three sisters: Celestine White, Effie Jordon, and Orlan Jarvis.

Debra was a Registered Nurse and loved Mardi Gras as well as being an avid LSU fan. She loved her family and enjoyed sharing her life with them. She was a fun-loving and devoted wife to Brennon LeJeune of Eunice; an amazing mother to three daughters, Candace LeBouef, Victoria LeJeune and Alani LeJeune all of Eunice; a beautiful daughter to T. J. and Juanita LeBouef of Eunice; a loving sister to three brothers, Bernard LeBouef and wife, Denise of Eunice, Randy LeBouef and wife, Sharon of Baton Rouge and Blake LeBouef and wife, Lisa of Eunice; an adoring grandmother to two grandchildren, Alina and Grant Darbonne; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and loyal friends. Her memory will live on in all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Alena Marie LeBouef.

LEAGUE CITY, TX ~Jacob Austin Comeaux, 22, of League City, TX passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.
He was born on April 1, 1993 to Gary Wayne (Cos) Comeaux and Cynthia (Cindy) Young Comeaux in Webster, TX.
Jacob was all “boy” and full of life, taking great joy in making others laugh and smile, and was a very giving person. Jacob never met a stranger and was well known by all his neighbors, especially if there was another little boy or animal at their home.  True to his birthday, Jacob loved playing pranks especially on his sisters, family, and friends.  He enjoyed being with his friends and cousins either listening to music, writing, collecting comics, going to the movies, playing video games, playing or watching just about all types of sports.  Jacob loved all forms of technology and was the “king” of selfies.  
Jacob loved his family and friends dearly and we all will miss him here on this earth, but we take great comfort knowing that he now is in the hands of his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lloyd Nathaniel Young; his paternal grandfather, Jessie James Comeaux; and his aunt, Annette Comeaux Vickery.
He is survived by his parents, Gary Wayne and Cynthia Young Comeaux; his loving sisters, Addi Elizabeth Comeaux Behymer and husband Jason and Sara Jean Comeaux, as well as his nephew, Thomas Austin Behymer and niece, Emma Jean Behymer; his maternal grandmother, Sibyl Stark Young and his paternal grandmother, Joyce Sanders Comeaux; his uncles, J.V. (Joel Vance) Young, Carl James Comeaux and wife Peggy, Duane Brent Comeaux and wife Virginia, and Van Vickery and wife Amy;  his cousins, Jessica Fallon Young, Ian Paul Comeaux, Rhen Matthew Comeaux and wife Casey and their children Rylie Kate Comeaux and Kaylee Fontenot, Cali Tamara Johnson and her children, Arys and Hayden Rosas, Stephen James Johnson and wife Brittney and their children Austin and Olivia Rae Johnson, Jessie Austin Vickery, Caleb Vickery, Justin Michael Comeaux and Allison Marie Comeaux as well as numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of J. William “Bill” Pucheu, age 88, announces his passing on Monday, June 15, 2015 at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 1:00 pm in Ville Platte. A burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Mario Romero as celebrant and Father Jason Vidrine co-celebrant.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bill will be greatly missed by his wife, Gay S. Pucheu of Ville Platte, sons, William Douglas Pucheu of Ville Platte, Guy Alfred Pucheu and wife Kim of Ville Platte, Jay Anthony Pucheu and wife Beth of Moreauville, daughters, Paula Pucheu Guillory of Lafayette and Pamela Pucheu Reynoir and husband Vance of New Orleans. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 8 grandchildren: Andrew Paul Guillory, Blaire Guillory Bobo, Zachary Alfred Pucheu, Joshua Joseph Pucheu, Victoria Anne “Torie” Lenox, Jacques Pucheu Reynoir, William Guthans Reynoir, Adele Vance Reynoir and his 5 great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, J. Emile and Thelma F. Pucheu, brother, Jacque Berchmans Pucheu, sister, Mary Lynn Pucheu and grandsons, Adam Michael Guillory and William Matthew Guillory.
Mr. Pucheu enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at age 17 and served his country during World War II. He was a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now ULL) and LSU Law School. He practiced law in Ville Platte for many years and served two terms as Assistant District Attorney and four terms as District Attorney of Evangeline Parish, retiring in 1996. He was a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, a longtime retreat captain at Our Lady of the Oaks Retreat House, and an avid golfer.
At the request of the Pucheu family, a visitation was held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will reopen again on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:00 am until time of services. A rosary was recited in Mr. Pucheu’s honor on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 6:00 pm.

Genevieve Benoit Watson died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the age of 91.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church
at 10 a.m. Msg. Robert Romero will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Genevieve is survived by one son, Jim Watson and wife Kay of Lake Charles; one brother, Yves
Benoit of Eunice; three grandchildren, Philip Watson, Jonathan Watson, and Eric Blount; and four
great-grandchildren, Adelie Watson, Elliot Blount, Annelise Watson, and Layla Blount.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, John Benoit and Armenia Fall Benoit; her husband
Dudley Watson; three brothers, Paul Benoit, Charley Benoit, and Emory Benoit; and four sisters,
Dorothy Rozas, Virgina Duplechain, Isabell Daigle, and Louise Bodin.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. by Deacon Chuck Ortego. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on
Thursday for visitation until the time of service.

Debra’ age 59, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at LBJ Hospital in Houston, TX.
She was a very faithful and devoted member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Houston, TX.
Survivors include: two sons: Perry Angel Jr., and Derrick Angel, both of Houston, TX; four brothers: Allarate J. Frank, Sr. of Eunice, Dr. Clarence Frank, Jr. of Long View, TX, Donald Ray Frank and Michael Wayne Frank, both of Houston, TX; one sister, Linda Gale Frank of Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Debra’ was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Clarence Frank, Sr., and Mrs. Olla B. Frank; three brothers, Holloway Frank, Charley Ray Frank, and Tony Frank.
Pallbearers will be Cassius Roy, Bravvion Roy, Domeic Frank, Donald Ray Frank, Michael Wayne Frank, and Allarate Frank, Jr.

Earline is survived by three sons, Dennis Gotreaux and wife Fay of Eunice, Keith Gotreaux and wife Kathy
of Eunice, and Daniel Gotreaux and wife Tina of Eunice; two brothers, Rufus Smith of Fordoche and Ulysse
Smith, Jr. of Fordoche; five sisters, Bessie Rinauto of Baton Rouge, Lorita Doucet of Fordoche, Lucy Bates
of Fordoche, Georgia Johnson of Livonia, and Sylvia Perricone of Fordoche; eleven grandchildren; and
thirteen great-grandchildren.
Earline was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysse Smith, Sr. and Edna Gros Smith; one daughter, Yvonne
Veillon; one granddaughter, Dana Floyd; and one sister, Audrey St. Romain.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quirk
& Son Funeral Home in Eunice. On Friday, June 19, 2015, visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
service at 2 p.m. at Niland Funeral Home in Livonia.

MR. CLIFTON “SLIM’’ GALLOW
EUNICE-Funeral services for Mr. Clifton “Slim” Gallow, 82, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 11:00 am with the visitation beginning at 8:00 m. until service time at the Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice, LA. Rev. Jermaine Tezeno will conduct the funeral ceremony. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Eunice, LA.
On Monday, June 15, 2015, the Angels of the Lord descended on Lafayette General Hospital and escorted Clifton to his heavenly home.
Filled with empty wells of loneliness will be his devoted wife, Dorothy Gallow of Eunice, LA; one son, Jimmy (Beverly) Gallow of Lafayette, LA; four daughters: Cathy (James) Louviere of Silver Spring, MD, Carrie (Charles) Clark of Humble, TX, Antoinetta (Keith) Scott of Forestville, MD and Tawania Gallow of Eunice, LA; one sister, Willie Mae (Mark) Carroll of Compton, CA; one brother, Maxzille (Claretta) Gallow of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Lucille M. Matt announces her passing on the morning of Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center with loving family by her side at the age of 97. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Msgr. Robert Romero officiating.
Lucille was a past member of the Ladies Altar Society as well as a member of The Quilting Bee. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her son, Willard Ray Matt and wife, Francil of Eunice and a daughter, Jeanette M. Johnson and husband, Loicy of Eunice; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis H. Matt; her parents, Vilian and Doris Molitar Manuel; two sisters, Vivian Molitar and Tillie Manuel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, June 19th from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am Friday morning.
