Rev. Roy John Kibodeaux Sr.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, at 1 p.m. at Maxie Gospel Tabernacle in Maxie for Rev. Roy John Kibodeaux Sr., 80, who died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
Visitation will be held at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, with a special worship service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at Maxie Gospel Tabernacle on Friday, March 18, from 9 a.m. until the start of services. Interment will be in Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan.
Rev. Kibodeaux was a good and generous man who devoted his life to serving the Lord and those around him. He founded The Welcome House shelter, which provides Christian-based services to homeless men, women and families. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of Kiwanis International for many years. In 1988, he was named the Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce, and throughout his life he received numerous awards for his humanitarian service to the citizens of Crowley and Acadia Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Ienaise Myers Kibodeaux of Crowley; two daughters, Kathy Duncan and husband Shea of Crowley and Debbie Comeaux of North Carolina; three sons, Roy John Kibodeaux Jr. and Troy Kibodeaux, both of Crowley, and Chet Kibodeaux and wife Liz of Houston, Texas; one step-son, Val Smith and wife Sharon of Crowley; two sisters, Edna Gautreaux and Margery Hawkins, both of Crowley; one brother, Andrus Kibodeaux of Carencro; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Rev. Kibodeaux was preceded in death by his parents, John and Andrea Cormier Kibodeaux; one son, Sammy Kibodeaux; one sister, Alice Kibodeaux; one brother, Louis Kibodeaux; three step-sons, Kevin Smith, Wesley Ardoin and Willard John Suire; and one son-in-law, Dennis Comeaux.
Services will be led by Rev. Sigmund Richard and Rev. Stacey Miller.
Pallbearers will be Troy Kibodeaux, R.J. Kibodeaux, Sigmund Richard, Chet Kibodeaux, Kendell Kibodeaux, Wayne Welsh, Gil Padgett and Charles McDowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Francis, Joe Freeland and Larry Regan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Welcome House, 24292 Crowley-Eunice Hwy., Crowley, Louisiana, 70526.

IOTA ~ A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 for Clarice Zaunbrecher Lejeune, who died at 3:23 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at her residence in Iota, La.
Fr. Jude Thierry will celebrate the services and a burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday by the Catholic Daughters.
Clarice was a longtime member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and was an Adorer of the Saint Joseph Adoration Chapel. She was a talented seamstress who could sew anything from doll clothes, to baby clothes, to her daughter’s wedding dresses, mostly without a pattern. She was also talented in the kitchen and could cook or bake anything without a recipe. She had a love of flowers and had an artist’s eye when it came to gardening, fashion and home decorating. But most of all, she had God first in her life, cared for her family and deeply enjoyed her grandchildren.
She is survived by her seven children, Cynthia Marie Lejeune Nobles and her husband Howard of Baton Rouge, LA, Sharon Ann Lejeune Menard and her husband Dr. Ron of Crowley, LA, Judy Marie Lejeune Burton and her husband James of Iota, LA, Carolyn Kay Lejeune Duos and her husband Dr. Clay of Eunice, LA, Michael William Lejeune and his wife Monica of Iota, LA, Mary Ellen LeJeune Sistrunk and her husband Tim of Baton Rouge, LA and Timothy Dwayne Lejeune and his wife Marilyn of Tickfaw, LA; two sisters Mary Jo Foreman of Indian Bayou, LA and Wanda Launey of Baton Rouge, LA; 15 grandchildren, Ashley M. Fontenot, Allison Menard, Aaron Burton, Will Burton, Andrea Burton, Caroline Duos Mazoch, Claire Duos Joubert, Natalie Duos, Michaela L. Lavergne, Caitlin L. Leblanc, Jake-Michael Lejeune, Joshua Lejeune, Courtney Lejeune, Amelia Lejeune and Abby Lejeune and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Burton, Tim Sistrunk, Dr. Ronald Menard, Jake Michael Lejeune, Will Burton, and Dr. Clay Duos. Honorary pallbearer was Howard Nobles.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rodney Lejeune; her parents Nicholas and Josephine Cramer Zaunbrecher; two infant grandchildren Nicholas and Samuel Lejeune; two brothers Willie and Otto Zaunbrecher and two sisters Wilma Regan and Elaine Leger.

Myra will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her five children, three sons, Robert Mitchell and fiancée Shelia of Lafayette, Anthony James and wife Vicki of Jefferson Island,
and Michael Dwayne of Richard; two daughters, Becky Sue Walterhouse and husband Kenneth of Richard and Melissa Renee Chapman and husband Kevin of Port Barre; three sisters, Pat Young,
Stephanie Cortez, and Prudence Matte and brother Ricky Lejeune; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jules Deranger; her parents, Horace Ledoux, Sr. and Bernice Young Lejeune; grandson, Robby Wayne Landreneau, Jr.; her sisters, Pam Lejeune, Sandra Lejeune, and Marie Rozas; her brothers, Clayton Lejeune, Lucas Young, and Horace Ledoux, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Deacon Chuck Ortego will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held from Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 2:30 p.m. by Deacon Chuck Ortego.

Dorothea Kirkpatrick Morris passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the age of 89.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Pastor John Krause will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Dorothea is survived by her husband, TC Morris of Eunice; one son, Gwilym Rea Morris of Eunice; one daughter, Deanne Daigle and husband retired Judge Ellis of Eunice; one sister, Sybil Lahtella
of Bossier City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, Robert B. Kirkpatrick, Sr. and Beryl Cox Kirkpatrick and three brothers, Kenneth K. Kirkpatrick, Robert Kirkpatrick, Jr., and Thomas Kirkpatrick.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Mary Johnson Lejeune passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the age of 78.

Mary is survived by three sons, Jerry Lejeune and wife Cheryl of Eunice, Jamie Lejeune of Port Barre, and Gilbert W. Lejeune of Eunice; two sisters, Joyce Broussard of Bossier City and Mable Olivier of Littleton, CO; four grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Lejeune and her parents, Wade Johnson and Mattie Vidrine Johnson.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon David Guillory at 7:00 p.m.

VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness that the family of Georgiana Fontenot, age 82, announces her passing on Monday, March 21, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Father Mitchell Guidry, celebrant.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 11 AM until 10 PM and will reopen Wednesday morning at 8 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM.
A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Georgiana will be greatly missed by her husband of 47 years, Joseph Fontenot of Ville Platte, sons, Patrick Miller of Ville Platte, Jimmy Miller and wife Vianna of Duson, Mike Miller of Baton Rouge, daughters, Debbie Gorman and husband Richard of Baton Rouge, Donna Pierce of Ville Platte, brother, Glenn Pitre of Baytown, Texas and sister, Etheline Miller of Eunice. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 14 grandchildren and her 30 Great grandchildren.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her parents, George and Eveline Deville and daughter, Rebecca Miller

A loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Jeannette will be greatly missed by her son, Benjamin Terrell and wife Shari of Tuscumbia, Alabama, daughter, Madeline Marcantel and husband Jeremy of Turkey Creek, brothers, Dan Hill and wife Suzie of Baton Rouge and Don Hill and wife Terry of Dallas, Texas and sister, Nancy Amy of Eunice. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 6 grandchildren and 1 Great grandchildren.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her husband Leon Terrell and parents, Morris and Austine Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Frey Cemetery with Father Joseph Tran officiating.
A homemaker, Darline devoted herself to her home and family. She loved gardening and sewing but most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her especially her three children, Terrell M. Daigle and husband, Bernard of Eunice, Thomas M. Mayfield, III and wife, Amy of Concord, NC and James Miller and wife, Tammy of Odessa, TX; three sisters, Flora Smith of McNary, Shirley Milliman of Abbeville and Garnell Brannon of Oakdale; her eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Allen Miller; son, James M. Mayfield; daughters, Sherry Dale M. Honeycutt, Pamela Ann Miller and Mary Elizabeth Miller; parents, Melvin and Gracie Rollins Strange; sister, Jewel O'Carroll.

Jennings: A Mass of Christian burial for Verda Ann LeJeune Andrepont of Basile LA was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Iota, LA on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00 am with Father Jude Thierry officiating. Burial followed in the St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 6:00 pm. The family request that visitation resume on Tuesday, March 22nd beginning at 8:00 am until 10:15 am.
Verda was born in Egan, LA on November 2, 1917 to Mark LeJeune and Maria Leger LeJeune. She was called from this life on March 14, 2016. Verda graduated from St. Francis High School in 1935, then she went on to attend Spencer Business College. In 1961 Verda graduated with her Practical Nursing degree from T.H. Harris in Opelousas. Verda worked for Jennings American Legion Hospital, Calcasieu Parish Health Unit and Acadia Parish Health Unit, where she was affectionately known as “Andy” by her co-workers. In her spare time Verda enjoyed crocheting, flowers, and gardening. She was also a member of the St. Augustine Ladies Altar Society Basile.
Verda is survived by her three children, Earline Oliver of Egan, LA, Gene Andrepont of Nederland, TX, Wayne Andrepont and wife Mary of Port Arthur, TX; eight grandchildren, Darla Webb and husband Kenny of Egan, LA, William “Billy” Oliver and wife Sonya of T-Mamou, LA, Deborah Murrell and husband Jeff of Egan, LA, Rhoda Roy and husband Roderick of Lyons Point, LA, David Oliver and wife Jennifer of Egan, LA, Shane Andrepont and wife Lee of Kingwood, TX, Tammy Andrepont of Scott, LA, Wendy Mazet and husband Jean-Luc of Austin, TX; twenty-five great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; one sister, Charlisa Dupaquier of Mandeville, LA.
Verda is now rejoicing in heaven with her parents, Mark and Maria Leger LeJeune; her beloved husband of 44 years, Rufus J. Andrepont; eight brothers, Elmo, Henry, Francis, Hugh, Myles, Larry Joe, Ray and Carl LeJeune; four sisters, Wava Mouton, Mertrice Regan, Lois Cooper, and Patricia Bullard; one son-in-law, William “Bill” Oliver; one daughter-in-law, Jane Dupre Andrepont.

Louis “June’’ Doyle, Jr., age 37, passed away at 10:55pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Basile Care Center.
He enjoyed raising his dogs and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his father, Louis Doyle, Sr. of Eunice, LA; son, Da’Shawn Doyle of Eunice, LA; daughters: Junequa Doyle of Houston, TX, and Keana Doyle of Eunice, LA; brother, Carl Anthony Guidry (Marilyn) of Houston, TX; sisters: Betty Joyce Guidry and Denise Guidry, both of Eunice, LA.
Louis “June’’ Doyle, Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Anderson Doyle; paternal grandparents, Edmonia Doyle and Steve Doyle; maternal grandparents, Fernus Anderson and Enoice Anderson.

Eunice~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Thelma Clavier Lavergne, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 88. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice at 11:00 am on Friday, March 25, 2016. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Darren Eldridge officiating.
Thelma was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She enjoyed cooking for her family, doing yard work and traveling. Thelma's memory will live on in all who loved her, especially her eight children, Brenda Mistrot and husband, Pierre of Three Mile Lake, Charlotte Chapman and husband, Terry of Swords, Terrel ''Murph'' Lavergne and wife, Keri of Wellington, FL, Wayne Lavergne and wife, Johnette and Dale Lavergne and wife, Geraldine all of Eunice, Donvan Lavergne of Lafayette, Kent Lavergne and wife, Brenda of Swords and Ricky Lavergne and wife, Mary of Eunice. She also leaves two brothers, Kermit and Dewey Clavier, both of Savoy. Thelma was a wonderful and loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also mourned by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, William Lavergne; parents, Felix and Theophine Richard Clavier; three sisters, Genevieve Atzenhoffer, Freida Miller, Anna Mae Clavier; and three brothers, Leo and Berlin Clavier, and Felix Clavier, Jr.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, March 24th from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, and again on Friday, March 25th from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:00 pm Thursday evening.

James enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and collecting guns. Jane is survived by her husband, Jesse J. Courville of Eunice; three daughters, Peggy C. Aguillard and husband Thomas Jr. of Labadieville, Cynthia "Cindy" Brown and husband Gregory of Scott, and Jessica C. Soileau and husband Brian "Swamp" of Eunice; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Luma Vidrine and Merice Fruge Vidrine and five sisters, Lillian Rider, Rouma Fontenot, Gertie Mae Ortego, Belle Manuel, and Sadia Guillory.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. by Deacon Timothy Marcantel.
The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday for visitation until the time of service.

Joseph Daniel Elfert, Sr., 89, a native and resident of Labadieville, LA, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville, LA, from 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at the church by celebrant Fr. Vincent J. Dufresne and concelebrant Fr. C. Todd Lloyd.
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Ardoin Funeral Home in Eunice, LA, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Burial will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2016, in The Miller Cemetery in Eunice, LA. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Miller Elfert; son, Joseph Daniel Elfert, Jr. MD and wife Stephanie: their children, Joseph D. Elfert III and wife Juli (great-grandchildren, Jensea, Jude, Joel, Jolie), Justin Elfert and wife Jeanne (great-grandchildren, Ava and Wesley), Samantha Elfert, Sarah Elfert; daughter, Gretchen Elfert Chaumont and husband Ronnie Chaumont: their children, Leah Kennedy and husband Shaun (great-grandchildren, Jack, Samuel, and Sophia), Jeffrey C. Chaumont and wife Jessica (great-grandchildren, Helene, Camille, and Adelle), Ronnie J. He was the principal of St. Philomena Elementary School and Basile High School.

Basile~It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Catherine LaFosse Chaisson on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette surrounded by her loving children. She was 58. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, April 01, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery in Elton with Father David Hebert officiating.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her four children, Cheryl Young and husband, Todd of Tepetate, Robin Guidry and fiancé' Mark Doucet of Basile, Jessica Chaisson McVay of Reed Springs, MO, and Jared Chaisson and Lorna of Basile; her brother, Larry LaFosse and wife, Theresa of Basile; her sister, Marietta LaFosse of Lafayette; her thirteen grandchildren, Savannah Young, Kyra Young, Kelsee Mott, Madie Young, Keegan Guillory, Kason Mott, Kendrick McVay, Johnthan Chaisson, Jeron Chaisson, Lainey McVay, Jordan Pullen, Wyatt McVay and JadeLynn Chaisson; three great grandchildren, Malacia Young, Lyncoln Mott and Sa'Nia White; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Chaisson; parents, Edward and Lovenia Guillory LaFosse; and her brother, David LaFosse.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Thursday, March 31st from 11:00 am until time of services. Deacon Robbie Leger will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday evening.

Allen Joseph Gotreaux passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the age of 82.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Pastors Dennis and Keith Gotreaux will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
Allen is survived by his wife, Shirley Leger Gotreaux of Eunice; one daughter, Helen Hicks and husband Burt of Eunice; three sons, Keith Gotreaux and wife Kathy of Eunice, Dennis Gotreaux and wife Faye of Eunice, and Daniel Gotreaux and
wife Tina of Eunice; one sister, Clara Guidry of Eunice; two brothers, Roland Gotreaux of Iota and Nolan Gotreaux of Baton Rouge; sixteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Gotreaux, Sr. and Euna Fontenot Gotreaux; one daughter, Yvonne Veillon; two granddaughters, Dayanna Bushnell and Dana Veillon; one sister, Norma Jean Fontenot;
and three brothers, Kenneth Gotreaux, Raymond Gotreaux, Jr., and Ivan Gotreaux.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The funeral home will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. for visitation until the time of service.

Dale is survived by his wife, Susie Mercer Fruge of Eunice; one daughter, Paige Ashby and husband Neil of Baton Rouge; one son, Jamie Fruge and wife Jackie of Eunice; two sisters, Juanette F. Fuselier of Redell and Wanda F. Duran of Moss Bluff; one brother, Mike Fruge of Moss Bluff; and five grandchildren, William, Parker, and Cooper Ashby of Baton Rouge and Evan and Erin Fruge of Eunice.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Plemson Fruge and Lena Doga Fruge and one brother, Merlin Fruge.
