Wade William Leger

EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the Leger family announces the passing of Wade Leger our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend on Saturday, August 06, 2016. Wade passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 75. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 3:00 pm on Monday, August 08, 2016 at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Cemetery Hwy 35 Church Point with Father Travis Abadie Celebrant.
Wade was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors. He also enjoyed passing along his knowledge and experience to others. His other passion was traveling with family and friends. Later in life he enjoyed following his grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. He became a big fan of football and baseball and never missed an opportunity to support his favorite players. He devoted his life to his family and shared his faith with his children. He was a very kind and loving man and spending time with his family and friends brought great joy to his life.
He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Betty Billeaudeau Leger of Eunice; his three daughters, Marie Leger of Monroe, Elizabeth Cuevas of Orlando, FL and Lisa Brown and husband, Paul of Eunice; two step daughters, Bridgette LaCombe of Opelousas and Monica Miller and husband, Philip of Lake Charles; two brothers, Teddy Leger of Church Point and Robert Leger of Houma; two sisters, Jeanette Fontenot of Church Point and Patsy Sonnier of Scott. The joys of his life his eleven grandchildren, Kristen Guillory Wiggins, Grant, Andrea and Lindsay Miller, Andrew ''Drew'', Jack, Henry and Clara Brown, Alicia Mire and husband, Kacey, Ashlyn and Branden Cuevas; his four great grandchildren, Kathryn Guillory, Brynn Wiggins, Ella and Mary Grace Mire; as well as extended family and friends.
Now Wade William rests in Heaven with his beloved daughter, Rochelle Ann Leger; granddaughter, Frances Claire Brown and a brother, Francis Leger and parents, Andrew and Jeanne Leger.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, August 8th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

VILLE PLATTE- Maurice Pitre passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the age of 88.
A memorial service will be held on August 11, 2016 at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte.
He is survived by his four children, Chris Pitre and wife Hedy of Eunice, Carmen Moran of Miami, Florida, Steve Pitre and wife Cindy of Lake Charles and Liz Pitre of Ville Platte. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Mr. Pitre was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked many years at the Pitre Ford Co. in Ville Platte, owned and operated Maurice Pitre Auto Sales in Eunice and Maurice Pitre RV Sales in Ville Platte.
Before retiring in the auto and RV business, he was awarded membership in Ford Motor Company's Society of Professional Sales Managers in 1975.
In his leisure time, Maurice loved to hunt, fish and tend to his cattle. He truly loved his family and friends and always enjoyed meeting new people.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Mary Fontenot Pitre, son, Carlos Pitre and his brother, Elin Pitre.

EUNICE-Funeral services for Mrs. Naomi T. Loeb, 88, will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 11:00 am at New Zion B. C. in Eunice, LA with the visitation observed from 8:00 am until 10:45 am at Owens-Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. Allen Ben will officiate the funeral ceremony.
On Saturday, August 6, 2016, upon her departure from her earthly adobe, the thunders roared as the gates of Heaven swung open for Naomi. Tears of joy rained from the heavens as her loving husband, Charles, welcomed her into Paradise. She whispered to Charlie “ Thanks for saving the last dance for me.”
Cherishing moments with “Mommie”, as she was affectionately called, are five children: Dr. Charles Phillip Loeb III (Peggy) of Los Angeles, California, Cynthia Tarver (Leon) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brenda Hardy (Gerald), Sheila Dixon (Willie), and Reginald Loeb of Eunice, LA; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Loeb, Jr., her parents, and four siblings.

EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Tim ''Big Tim'' Diaville announces his passing on Wednesday, August, 2016 at the age of 41. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Ashford Cemetery with Pastor Travis Turner officiating.
Tim known to many as "Big Tim" loved to cook, make sausage, camp and fish. He enjoyed football and was a Saints fan. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his parents, Dudley and Leura Hollier Diaville of Mamou; brothers, Gregory Paul Diaville and wife, Shelly of Elkins, AR, and James Diaville of Eunice; sisters, Christina Lynn Fontenot and husband, Dwayne of Eunice, Lori Courville and husband, David of Mamou, and Betty Duplechin of Eunice; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Morris and Bertille Bertrand Diaville; and maternal grandparents, Alcee and Vernice Landreneau Hollier.

Brenda loved and lived for her dogs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially by her husband of twenty one years, Joseph Lee Dietz of Iota; son, Donny Gene Thibodeaux and wife, Stephanie of Eunice; step-sons, Stephen Dietz of Iota and Mark Anthony Dietz and wife, Leslie of Prairieville; step-daughter, Tammy Dietz Smith and husband, Josh of Iota; brothers, Gene Joseph LeJeune of Texas, Terry Dale LeJeune of Texas, Roy Allen LeJeune of Crowley, and Leonard Paul LeJeune of Texas; sisters, Bernadine LeJeune Breaux of Texas, Sharlene LeJeune Fontenot of Eunice, and Pansy LeJeune Landry of Iota; two grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

IOTA~Our hearts are filled with sorrow as we announce the passing of our loving father, brother, grandfather and friend, Marcus James "Booger" Bertrand on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the age of 62. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at (pending) on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Burial will follow in the Maxie Cemetery with Pastor David Greene officiating.
Marcus known to many as "Booger" served proudly in the United States Navy. He was a consultant in the oilfield and was a hardworking man. He enjoyed watching his western movies and when he could he enjoyed riding his Harley. But most of all he enjoyed his free time with his family. He will be truly missed by all the lives he has touched. Marcus's memory will live on in all who loved him, especially his two sons, Marcus James Ryan Bertrand and Trevor John Bertrand both of Iota; his brother, Thomas "Wimpy" Bertrand of Iota; his four sisters, Cynthia "Cindy" Bouget of Church Point, Iona "Sissy" Lantz and Nina "Coco" Bertrand both of Iota and Marcha "Tino" Wallace of Evangeline and the two joys of his life his grandchildren, Blair Elizabeth Bertrand and Brantley John Bertrand; as well as extended family and friends. "The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained."
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bertha Dietz Bertrand; wife, Donna Manuel Bertrand; two brothers, Paul and Dwayne Bertrand.

Bradley James Manuel passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the age of 78.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum in Eunice.
Bradley is survived by his wife, Belle Sonnier Manuel of Eunice; two sons, Randel J. Manuel and wife Angie of Eunice and Brent C. Manuel and fiancé Estelle David of Opelousas; one
sister, Louanna M. Doucet of Eunice; four grandchildren, Ryan and wife Jamie, Tyler, Myles, and Connor; and two great-grandchildren, Zoie and Kate.
Bradley was preceded in death by his parents, Euway Manuel and Aline Diaville Manuel and one brother, Vernell Manuel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. by
Deacon Gary Gaudin. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. for visitation until the time of service.

Church Point, LA – Funeral Services was held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA for Lorenza “ Tee” LeJeune, Jr, 87. Mr. LeJeune, a native and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Richard, died Monday morning, August 22 at his residence. Father Wayne Duet will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas LeJeune of Duralde, LA and Harvey LeJeune of Lewisburg, LA; two daughters, Irene LeJeune of Eunice, LA and Stephanie Cormier and husband Michael of Richard; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenza, Sr. and Ora LeJeune; his wife, Rita Wilfert LeJeune and a son, Daniel LeJeune.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 23 and continue from 10:00 am Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary was held there at 7:00 pm Tuesday by Lurlin LeJeune.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the WWII Era and member of American Legion Post 225, Mr. LeJeune will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.

EUNICE~Services for Mayme Kessler Stagg will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in the Richard community with Rev. Orville Rogers officiating.
Mayme Stagg, age 99, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in the Regent Care Nursing Home in Woodway, TX. She was born in Eunice, LA, August 5, 1917. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a wonderful Christian person who loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ. Mayme spent her married life caring for her husband and children and helping others.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Ann Ervin and husband, Claude of Waco, TX; two sons, Hubert Stagg, Jr. and wife, Geneva, and Robert Stagg and wife, Ruth, all of Eunice; two sisters, Frances Terry of Houston, TX and Carrie Williamson of Gretna; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Stagg, Sr.; parents, William and Verda Allen Kessler; and numerous siblings.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, August 26th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

EUNICE~ With much sorrow, we announce the passing of Dorothy "Ms. Dot" Roy who peacefully slipped away in her 86th year on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Acadian Medical Center with her loving daughter by her side. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Benny Reppond officiating.
Dorothy, or "Ms. Dot" as she was affectionately called by family and friends, loved to bake and make jelly, and spend time with her loving family and friends. She was a loving mother and will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her especially her loving daughter, Janice Roy Nelson of Eunice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Roy; her parents, Lionel and Leah Vasseur Crader and a brother, Herman Crader.

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Wanda Gail Redd Kedinger, 72, who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at her residence in Rayne.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Rev. Samuel Fontana of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Paul Loren Kedinger of Rayne; three sons, Victor Kedinger of Shreveport, Greg Kedinger of Rayne, and Daniel Kedinger and Anna of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Andrew Lemoine, Victoria Kedinger, Ada Kedinger, Abigail Kedinger, Jonah Kedinger and Lydia Kedinger; a step-sister, Claudia Hudgins Colquette of Oakdale; and a step-brother, Harold H. Hudgins III and wife Pam of Arlington, Texas.
Wanda was a long-time journalist and educator, the co-owner and publisher of the Oakdale Beacon and a member of LBWA (LA Business Women’s Association).
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracey Anila Kedinger; her mother, Ida Mae Blass Hudgins; her father, George William Redd; her step-father, Harold Hudgins II.
A Rosary was prayed Friday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
At the request of the family, visitation was observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Friday, Aug. 26, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday Aug. 27, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Lottie was an incredibly charitable person. She had a passion for donating her time and sewing abilities to the care and concern of others. She worked tirelessly sewing clothing for premature babies in hospitals, and knitting and crocheting caps for soldiers in service on ships. She was a mentor for young girls and loved to teach them to sew. She also loved to hunt and especially enjoyed squirrel hunting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband of 65 years, Harry L. Ledoux, Sr. of Eunice; son, Harry Lee Ledoux, Jr. and wife, Alicia of Houston, TX; daughter, Carol Williams and husband, Randy of Lafayette; two grandsons, Steven Williams and wife, Amy of Youngsville and Ross Williams of Lafayette; and one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Paige Benoit of Lafayette; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rene and Essie Fontenot Aguillard; brothers, Roland and Rodgers Aguillard; sisters, Luzzie Lou Lejeune, Ethel Moreau, and Verna May Labry.

James, a veteran of United States Army, was a retired field inspector. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, especially his loving wife of 73 years, Clara Fruge of Eunice; daughters, Nancy Ryder of Eunice and Diane Fruge of Gainsville, FL; four grandchildren, Jamie Fruge, Byron Fruge, Lance Fruge, and Jacob Ryder; three great granddaughters, Kieran Fruge, Giannie Fruge, and Ariana Fruge; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Deaton Fruge; and parents, Evan and Lucy Sittig Fruge.

Anthony is survived by his wife Leona Hall Griffin of Eunice; one son, Terrell Griffin of Opelousas; three
daughters, Laquinta Washington of Marreo, Sontil Washington of Eunice, and Laquisha Washington of
West Wego; six sisters, Terry Holmes of Marreo, Patrice McKinnis of Kenner, Sherry Washington of Harvey,
Audrey William of Agusta, MS, Betty Tobais of Eunice, and Vida DeGree of Kenner; and eight grandchildren.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Simon Griffin, Jr. and Lucille Smith Griffin; granddaughter,
Gery'ell Jessie; sister, Gina Holmes; and two brothers, Jerry Holmes and Flanders Holmes.
