Elsie Johnson
Elsie Catorie Johnson died on Friday, July 4, 2014, at the age of 85. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Time is pending at this time. Burial will follow at Courville Cemetery in Eunice.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Johnson of Eunice and Tony Johnson of Ville Platte; one daughter, Elaine Miller of Eunice; one daughter-in-law, Diane Johnson; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Shewas preceded in death by her father, Emond Catorie; her husband, Deno Johnson; one son, Jimmy Johnson; one daughter, Jenny Johnson; one brother, Russell Catorie; two sisters, Elrina Catorie and Mary Doucet.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, from 9 AM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, for visitation until time of service.

Peggy Johnson
BASILE
Peggy LeDoux Johnson died on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the age of 66. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 2 PM at First Baptist Church of Basile. Pastor Dwayne Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Basile Baptist Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Bessie B. LeDoux of Basile; her husband, Robert Johnson of Basile; four daughters, Ashley Murphy and husband Michael of West Lake, Tammy Myers and husband Joshua of Basile, Renee' Doga and husband BJ of Basile, and Monique McGee and husband Shane of Basile; three brothers, Wayne LeDoux of Dallas, TX, Jerry LeDoux of Tulsa, OK, and Dennis LeDoux of Basile; two step-sons, Benjamin and Mitchell Johnson both of Lake Charles; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur LeDoux; one daughter, Hollie Austin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from 11 AM to 10 PM at First Baptist Church of Basile. The Church will reopen at 8 AM Wednesday for visitation until time of service.
Quirk & Son is in charge of arrangements.

Berckman Fontenot died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the age of 85. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 10 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Father D. Blaine Clement will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Marie Fontenot of Pensacola Beach, Fla., Sherry Ann Daville of Rayne, LA, and Billie Jo Stanley & husband Rodney of Panama Beach, Fla.; one brother, Horace Fontenot of Eunice, LA; two sisters, Lucy Meaux of Austin, Texas and Mary Lou Guillory of Eunice, LA; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dovic Fontenot and Alma Smith Fontenot; his first wife, Rose Mae Brasseaux Fontenot; his second wife, Alice Charles Fontenot; two brothers, Henry Fontenot and Norris "Boy Boy" Fontenot; one sister, Mary Jane Fontenot.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 1 PM to 8 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, at 6 PM by Father D. Blaine Clement. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday at 8 AM for visitation until time of service.

Jeanie Guillory Daigle died on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the age of 58. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 10 AM at New Hope Fellowship Church. Pastor Woody Gunnels will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Eunice.
She formerly worked for the Eunice News (10 years) in the advertising department.
Survivors include her husband, James Teddy Daigle of Eunice; one daughter, Kristie Buxton & fiancé Billy LaSage of Eunice; one step-daughter, Jessica Landry of Youngsville; five step-sons, Chad Singmaster of Eunice, Shane Bordelon of Pine Prairie, Shannon Bordelon of Eunice, Toby Bordelon of Kinder, and Donnie Shad Bordelon of Eunice; one brother, Michael Keith LeJeune & wife Regina of Mamou; five step-sisters, Sue Ortego of Eunice, Gail Fontenot of Ville Platte, Faye Sylvester of Prairie Rhonde, Charlene Kyeer of Fenton, and Christine Greene of Abbeville; one step-brother, Charlie Sylvester of Eunice; two grandchildren, Joseph Buxton of Eunice and Chelsea Buxton Burrell of Eunice; two great-grandchildren, Clayton Johnson, Jr. and Joshua Paul Buxton; her dog, Molli Elizabeth Daigle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delius Guillory and Vernetta Bushnell Sylvester; her step-father, Allen Sylvester; an uncle, Weldon Bushnell; a god-child, Stevie Bellon; a best friend, Maxine Menard.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014, from 10 AM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM Saturday for visitation until time of service at New Hope Fellowship Church.

Ashley Ann-Marie Stageman died on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. She was 25. A Celebration of Life was held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Remembrances at 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home.
Survivors include her parents, Craig and Margaret Brown Stageman of Eunice; her brother, Doug Moreau of Eunice; her four sisters, Cherie M. Guillory and husband, David of Norman, Okla., Michelle Vidrine and husband, Tim of Eunice, Renee Berzas and husband, Donny of Mamou and Stacey Lorraine Stageman Glazier and husband, Brandon of Milliken, Colo..; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth June “Weidner” Kennedy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six nieces, six nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Fred and Alma Brown and paternal grandfather, Jack William Stageman.

follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
Survivors include his wife, Carlene Ortego Darbonne of Eunice; a son, Scott Darbonne of Eunice; a daughter, Renee D. Bult & husband Derek of Eunice; two brothers, Randy Darbonne of Kingwood, Texas, and Darnell Darbonne of Ville Platte;
three sisters, Wanda Tate of Breaux Bridge, Pat Fontenot of Ville Platte, and Charlene Johnson of Ville Platte; four grandchildren, Trent Bult, Libby Bult, Sarah Darbonne, and Chloe Darbonne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea Darbonne and Mazel Atalles Darbonne; a grandson, Garret Bult.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 4 PM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home.
The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM Thursday for visitation until time of service.

Lillie Maxie
Lillie D. Maxie died on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home. She was 91. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Deacon David Guillory officiating.
She was a veteran of the United States Army and was a Registered Nurse.
Survivors include her brother, Brownie Duplechin of Eunice; five nephews; two nieces; and many great nephews, great nieces, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.S. Maxie; son, Spencer Maxie; parents, Wesley and Lillie Janot Duplechin; and sister, Myra Bea Brown.
Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 10:30 am Monday
