Victor Vice

Victor Leon Vice died on December 1, 2014 at his home. He was 87. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 04, 2014 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Brother Chris Holloway and Brother Bobby Hoddnett officiating.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired from the Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline after working 30 years as a district supervisor. He was a deacon at Little Pass Baptist Church of Charenton for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Georgie A. Vice of Eunice; his son, Steve Vice and wife, Gwen of Baldwin and his daughter, Vickie Manuel and husband, Alvin of Eunice; five grandchildren, Scott Manuel, Kerri Comeaux, Michael Vice, Nikki Manuel Daigle and Debra Theunissen; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Iris Murray of Garden City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Opal Haggard Vice.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, December 3rd from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. On Thursday, December 4th from 8:00 am until time of services.
George Lebeau

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 for George Lebeau, 90, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. He died at the Jefferson Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Beaumont, TX. on November 30, 2014 at 9:45 p.m. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery in Mamou with Father Richard Broussard Celebrant.
He was a veteran ofthe Merchant Marines and owned and operated LeBeau Construction Co.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Ray LeBeau of Monroe, LA; one step-daughter, Pris LeJeune and husband, Bob of Beaumont; one step-daughter-in-law, Rose Fontenot of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Connie Dien and husband, Gary, D’awn Beaver and husband, Jeff, Babette Lejeune and Marge LeBeau and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Camay LeBeau, his parents, Dennis and Eliska Arceneaux LeBeau, two-step-sons, Sherrell Fontenot and Michael Keith Fontenot,four brothers, Dave, Willie, Oscar and Hiram LeBeau , six sisters, Virginia Thomasie, Theresa Leblanc,Mae Parker, Elizabeth Melancon, Leona Ficklin and Marie Fontenot and one granddaughter, Leah Lejeune.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Karen Berza

Karen Ann Berza died on Monday, December 1, 2014, at the age of 57.
Survivors include one son, David Coy of Wendell, MA; one daughter, Sarah Ann Bollich and husband Jakob of Eunice; one brother, Jay Berza of Eunice; four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Berza and Mary Cole Stout; one brother, Allen Berza.

Irma Hanchett
Funeral services for Irma Hanchett, 71, will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at C. H. Mason Church of God in Christ in Eunice, LA. Visitation will be observed from 7:00 am until service time. Elder Jonathon Williams will conduct the funeral ceremony. Burial will be in Zion Traveler’s Cemetery in Mallet, LA.
She died onn Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
Survivors include four children: Ruby (Ronald) Hilts of Eunice, LA, Michael (Melissa) Guillory of Lake Charles, LA, David Guillory of Eunice, LA and Linda Guillory of Lafayette, LA; two sisters: Dorothy (Robert) Poullard of Eunice, LA, and Joyce (Gordon) Lavallais of Port Arthur, Texas; five brothers: Elvin (Mary Lou) Hanchett of Lake Charles, LA, Aaron (Viola) Hanchett of Fresno, Texas, Warren (Louise) Hanchett and Leron Hanchett both of Port Arthur, and Murphy (Lou Anna) Chapman of Eunice, LA; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sleager Chavis and Spencer Hanchett; ten brothers: Dallas, Allen, Forrest, Ervin, Matthew, Adam, Cloney, Dosker, Hardy and Paul Hanchett; five sisters: Loubertha Fennis, Dorina Fontenot, Eva Hamilton, Lou Versia Hagger, and Rufie Mae Hanchett; and two grandchildren: La’Toya Nicole Hilts and Ashley Guillory.

Lezia Gary Vidrine died on Wednesday, December 03, 2014, at the age of 90.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Father Clinton Sensat will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
Survivors include one son, Wilson Vidrine, Jr. and wife Clara of Eunice; three grandchildren, Chawana Fontenot and husband Carl of Eunice, Brent Vidrine, and Cory Vidrine and wife Florence; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren, Melissa, Roxanne, and Lisa Comeaux; five step-great grandchildren; and one step great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aviles Gary and Doris Crochet Gary; her husband, Wilson Vidrine, Sr.; four brothers, Rufus Gary, Melvin "Red" Gary, Nolan Gary, and Aldon Gary; and one great-grandchild, Sage Vidrine.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon David Guillory at 6 p.m.
The funeral home will reopen on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 8 a.m. for visitation until the time of service.
John 'Cha Cha' Fontenot, unemployment officer

John R. “Cha Cha” Fontenot, 70 died on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his residence in Mamou. A Service of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou with Rite of Committal to follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery . Father Thainese will act as Celebrant for all services.
Fontenot was an Unemployment Officer with the State of Louisiana for 35 years.
Survivors include three children, Julia Johnson and her husband, Randy and Carolyn Breaux and her husband Glenn all of Mamou, and John Richard Fontenot, II and his wife Ashley of Houma; two brothers, Michael B. Fontenot and Companion Valerie Douget of Reddell and Eddie Jean “To To” Fontenot of Mamou; five grandchildren, Courtney Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Tori Breaux, Remy Fontenot , Cooper Fontenot and one step-grandchild, Brandon Breaux and wife Raconda and one step-great-grandchild, Larrian Breaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Lynn Fontenot, and his parents Jeffery and Emma Lou Fontenot.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 3:00 PM. until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Friday evening.The Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 AM on Saturday until time of services.
Thelma Chatagnier

Thelma Taylor Chatagnier died on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the age of 96.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 1:30 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Father Dustin Dought will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum in Eunice.
Survivors include four sons, L.G. "Buddy" Chatagnier, Jr. and wife Gloria of Pineville, Kenneth T. Chatagnier and wife Angeline of Eunice, Gregory A. Chatagnier of Eunice, and Keith Chatagnier and wife Janet of Eunice; three daughters, Lynn C. Brown and husband Eddie of Eunice, Jana Chatagnier of Prairieville, and Dana C. Altizan and husband Keith of Broussard; one brother, Thomas Taylor of Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fernest Taylor and Daisy Bourgeois Taylor; her husband, L.G. "Gilly" Chatagnier; one brother, Julius Taylor; two sisters, Lane C. Gomez and Ruby T. Broome.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM by Deacon Gary Gaudin. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday for visitation until time of service.

John Clifford Secia died on Friday, December 05, 2014, at the age of 55.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Deacon David Guillory will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
Survivors include his father, Clifford Secia; one son, Jordan Secia; two daughters, Abigail Secia and Emily Secia; one sister, Jolie Phelps of Castro Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Don Secia and wife Judy of Eunice and Dan Gomes of Walnut Creek, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen Graves Gomes.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:15 p.m. by Deacon David Guillory.

Carmen Miller, Jr.
Carmen Joseph Miller, Jr. died on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the age of 58.
No memorial service has been scheduled at this time.
Survivors include his daughter, Amber Morton and husband Wes of Magnolia, Texas; five brothers, Mack Miller of Lafayette, Steve Miller of Basile, Willie Miller of Alexandria, Marc Miller of Mamou, and Jeff Miller of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen J. Miller, Sr. and Mattie Langley Miller, and two sisters.

Nearrel "Wayne" Hebert died on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the age of 68.

Survivors include three brothers, Cliff Hebert, Jr. of Lake Charles, Robert Hebert and wife Paula of Lake Charles, and Rayland Hebert of Lake Charles; one sister, Michelle Barcus and husband Bill of Snohomish, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Hebert, Sr. and Helena Fontenot Hebert.

Turner died on Saturday, December 13, 2014.
He is survived by his daughter, Alexis Turner of North Glenn, Colo.; sister, Linda Turner Bellow and her husband Lawrence of Eunice; brother, Raymond "Gary" Turner and his wife Pamela of Eunice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond C. Turner and Mary Biondolille Turner; brother, Steve Turner.

Burley John Prather died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the age of 76.
A Mass of Christrian Burial will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, at St. Edwards Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Father Darren Eldridge will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum.
He was a pipelines and construction backhoe operator and trained racehorses.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna Young Prather; four children; Monica M. Prather Doucet and husband Tim of Erwinville, Verland Prather and wife Pam Carrier Prather of Newport, Tenn., Tommy G. Prather and wife Leigh Tatman Prather of Erwinville, and Pam M. Prather Marcantel and husband Ken of Eunice; a sister, Rita Babineaux Guidry of Richard; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Seth Prather, Jon-Eric Prather, Brittney Shea Prather, Megan D. Prather Bodin, Amber M. Doucet, Elizabeth N. Burruss, Brooke M. Burruss, Gary A. Burruss, Henry J. Doucet, Hannah N. Prather, and Travis Marcantel; and seven great-grandchildren, Hunter S. Prather, Lathan L. Logan, Christian Logan, Hunter J. Bodin, Brayland Logan, Stedson Bodin, and Weston Logan. His pet was Tofie.
He was the Godfather of two, Lawrence "Blackie" Babineaux and Amy M. Gilcrest.
Visitation at Quirk & Son will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. by Deacon Kerry Reviere. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday for visitation until the time of service.
