EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Thelma Bellow Higginbotham announces her passing on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center with loving family by her side at the age of 94. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 03, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant, with the assistance of homilist, Deacon Gary Gaudin.
Thelma was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her three sons, Wayne J. Higginbotham and wife, Dru of Pearl River, Ray A. Higginbotham and wife, Jeanne of Eunice, and Gary J. Higginbotham and wife, Mona of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Martha Higginbotham Orlando and husband, Donald of Eunice, and Brenda Higginbotham Bertrand and husband, Ted of Carencro; brother, Adam “Brother” Johnson and wife, Patricia of Eunice; sister, Rena Bellow Dupre of Eunice; eleven grandchildren, Wayne Jr., Donny, Luke, Michael and Danny Higginbotham, Allen Higginbotham, Joey Higginbotham, Melissa Vidrine, Nicole Voisey, William Higginbotham, and Celia Drury; and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garland J. Higginbotham; parents, Arthlus and Amilia Moreau Bellow; brothers, Lawrence, Leonce, Fred and Leo Bellow; sisters, Pearl Prudhomme, Bell Bellow, Mable Lafleur and Edith Bellow.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, March 2nd from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, March 3rd from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Monday evening.

Lou Etta Burleigh Young passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the age of 90.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice
at 10 AM. Pastor Gary Mitchell and Asst. Pastors Alvin Ogea and Vernon Martindale will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
Lou Etta is survived by one son, Gary Young and wife Pam of Eunice; three sisters, Regina Thibodeaux
of Opelousas, Violet Cushman of Opelousas, and Estelle Burleigh of Opelousas; one grandson Jason
Young and wife Katie; and five great-grandchildren.
Lou Etta was preceded in death by her parents, George Burleigh and Beatrice Stanford Burleigh; her husband,
Milken Young; one son, Dennis Ray Young; and one grandson, Chris Young.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 10 AM to 10 PM. The funeral
home will reopen at 8 AM on Friday for visitation until the time of service.

BUTLER, MO~Joseph Donavan Williams, age 76 of Butler, Missouri died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Medicalodge Nursing Center in Butler, Missouri.
He was born January 14, 1939 to Dodds Jenkins and Lillian Miller Williams in Eunice, Louisiana.
Joe, one of three children, grew up in Eunice and graduated from Eunice High School in 1957. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. On May 25, 1965 he was united in marriage to Karen Hilsabeck and to this union two daughters were born. Joe was a postal carrier for several years. He also worked for American Family Homes and most recently at WalMart. Joe attended the United Methodist Church in Chilhowee.
Joe is survived by two daughters, Mary Clark and husband James of Butler, Missouri and Audrey Dill and husband Raymond of Granby, Missouri; three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and five step great-grandchildren; as well as nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Juanita Jeanne Cox and Theresa Audrey Arnold.
Memorial graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Carpenter Cemetery in Chilhowee, Missouri under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

EUNICE ~ Visitation for Sandra “Candy’’ Denise Edwards, 50, will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary being prayed at 8:00 pm at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Church Point. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 8:00 am to 11:45 am with a Rosary being prayed at 10:00 pm at Bishop Caesar Hall in Eunice. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm at St. Mathilda Catholic Church, 800 East Laurel, in Eunice with burial following in the St. Mathilda Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Darren Eldridge officiating.
Sandra passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 4:51 pm at Lafayette General Hospital.
Sandra Denise Edwards was born on August 19, 1964. She was the first born to Mr. & Mrs. Joseph LeBlue of Church Point, LA. Sandra grew up in Church Point, La. helping her mother raising her four younger siblings. She attended Church Point Elementary, Church Point Middle and Church Point High School. She grew up loving to cook and aspired to one day become a great chef. Sandra attended college for a short period of time at LSU of Eunice. There, she worked towards becoming a nurse, however God had a different calling for her. Sandra later on, at the age of 18, married the love of her life, Mr. Leonce Keith Edwards, Sr. of Eunice. From this union, the two bore two awesome and beautiful children: Leonce Keith Edwards, Jr. and Keristian Denise Edwards. Sandra and Keith loved one another dearly and were inseparable. The wonderful couple stayed married for 29 years and raised their children with love and the steps needed to live a productive life. While living in Eunice, Sandra worked at various schools as a cafeteria manager and cook. Sandra lived a life filled with laughter and joy. She always put others ahead of herself to make sure everyone was happy. Sandra loved her family ever so dearly and she touched the hearts of those whom she encountered.
Survivors include: her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph LeBlue of Church Point; spouse, Leonce Keith Edwards, Sr. of Eunice; one son, Leonce Keith Edwards, Jr. of Eunice; one daughter, Keristian Edwards of Eunice; two brothers, Carlton LeBlue, Charles, LeBlue and adopted brother, Kendricks LeBlue, all of Church Point; and one sister, Germaine Poullard (Kirk) of Church Point.
Sandra was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy LeBlue.
Pallbearers will be: Roy Guillory, Alex Andrus, Jessie Edwards, Nathaniel Ardoin, Jack Ardoin, and Kenny LeBlue.

Mr. Vallery passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:17 am at Acadia Medical Center in Eunice.
Survivors include: his spouse, Mercy Thomas Vallery of Eunice; one son, Michael S. Vallery of Eunice; one sister, Mary Simon Sears of Houston, TX; and 3 grandchildren.

John is survived by one daughter, Margaret F. Leger and husband Ronnie of Eunice; one son John P. Fontenot, Jr. of Eunice; one brother, Clint Fontenot of Buna, TX; one granddaughter, Jennifer and husband Benjamin Miller of Eunice.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Jean M. Fontenot and Ezore Soileau Fontenot; his wife, Exilta Fontenot; one sister, Bernice Young.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

MAMOU ~ A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Joseph Donald Bordelon at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Mamou with Father Mark Melancon officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Ann’s Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Visitation will be held in the First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie, Friday, February 6, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm, then Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon.
Joseph, 62, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Grace Home of Alexandria. He graduated from Pine Prairie High School and worked in the oilfield as a driller. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: four sons, Shane Bordelon (Kristan) of Pine Prairie, Shannon Bordelon (Paige Thibault) of Iota, Toby Bordelon of Pine Prairie, and Donnie Bordelon of Church Point; one stepdaughter, Kristie Lynn Buxton of Oakdale; two brothers, Raymond Bordelon and Danny Bordelon both of Pine Prairie; 19 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Dylan Bordelon, Caden Duplechain, Alex Marcantel, Dakota Bordelon, Trevor Bordelon, and Josh Lavergne.

EUNICE~A wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Pearl Watford will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Pearl died peacefully on Thursday, March 05, 2015 at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was 66. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Sunday, March 08, 2015 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pearl was very passionate about the things that brought joy to her life, which were her family, helping everyone cause everyone was family to her, making sure everyone was safe and had a meal to eat, and spending time with her grandchildren. Pearl’s memory will live on in all who loved her, especially her daughter, Theresa Lobrano and husband, Perry of Eunice; her partner for twenty five years, William “Billy” Bourque of Eunice; four brothers, Jim Westbrook and wife, Kathy of Tutwiler, Ms, James Westbrook and Bobby Westbrook and wife, Janie all of Holly Bluff, MS and Billy Jose Westbrook of Yazoo County, MS; and the joys of her life, her eleven grandchildren, Jamie Watford, Courtney and Nicholas Lobrano, Christopher Watford, Kaiden Lobrano, Krissii Guillory, Robert, Paul, Billy, Cassie and Carla Watford.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearly Manns Westbrook; step son, Cecil “Butch” Watford; brothers, Ernest and Barney Westbrook; sisters, Mary Lou Williams, Mary Dean Rainey and Christine Forbes.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, March 7th from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Sunday, March 8th from 8:00 am until time of services.

Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Maureen was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by everyone especially her six children, Cynthia F. Leckelt and husband, Manny of Iota, Charlotte Fontenot of Harrison, AR, Kevin L. Fontenot and wife, Jamie, Krestina LeVergne, Christopher W. LeVergne and wife, Valeria and Kourtney P. LeVergne and wife, Mary all of Eunice; two brothers, Donnie Lynn Thibodeaux, Sr and wife, Linda of Eunice and Larren Dale Thibodeaux of Montgomery, AL; one sister, Deborah Dean Thibodeaux of Eunice; and the joys of her life her twenty three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Vivian LeBlanc Thibodeaux; and a son, Kresdon LeVergne.

Known as Susie to everyone, she was a loving sister, aunt and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by two brothers, Gregory Wayne Richard and wife, Agnes of Church Point and Richard G. Richard and wife, Carolyn of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Shirley Cormier of Lafayette and Faye Blanchard and husband, Glenn of Eunice; nieces and nephews, Wesley and Nicole Blanchard, Debbie Richard, Darlene Pollard, Paula Kent and Marty Cormier.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gourney and Ella Janice Richard and a nephew, Damon Richard.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, March 10th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, March 11th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.

three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, Eraste and Celise Marcantel Myers; his first wife, Mildred S.
Myers; his second wife, Nellie Aguillard Myers; one son, Paul Myers; and one daughter, Louise Prejean.

Doucet of Arizona; his son, Julien David Doucet of Iota; three daughters, Lexis Aaliyah Doucet, Aaron Nicole Doucet, and Gabriella Ann Doucet all of Eunice; five brothers, Jonathan Doucet of Basile, Hugh Scott Doucet of Church Point, Jason Doucet of Jennings, Christopher Doucet of Lafayette and John Blake Doucet of Ville Platte; and one sister, Victoria Simien of Richard.
